Description
Create a panel or small three dimensional sculpture, vessel, lamp cover, bag or wearable accessory using a combination of woven metals, sheer fabrics, lutradur, burning techniques, machine appliqué and lots of beads and hand embellishments.
You will first develop a ‘design’ using a straightforward technique based around simple observations and drawn marks, developed and refined using masking, tracing and changing scale.
Then you will plan your project and transform metal fabric by clothing it in chiffons and organzas which we will then burn away with soldering irons or cut away with scissors.
The chiffons can be applied by hand or machine stitch, or by gel medium after which you will add interest and complexity to the surface with more stitch, beads and wires if you want to add another dimension
This workshop achieves results more quickly if using a sewing machine for some of the time, however hand stitchers will also have no difficulty in creating a lovely, textured artwork.
Dates, please take careful note
