Description
Printing with Natural Dyes focusses on how to transfer imagery and pattern onto fabric using thickened natural dye extracts as a medium using a variety of techniques including screens, gelliplates, stencils and print blocks. Learn how to prepare your fabric for printing, how to mix the dyes and the print medium, the print medium options and how to harness the unique characteristics of natural dyes to vary shade and hue of colour. Hopefully everyone will go away with a range of samples and possibly some larger pieces for a new product

2 days Fri/Sat 15&16 March 2024. Each day runs from 10-4 and tea, coffee, and biscuits are available throughout
Payment
£130 , a non-refundable deposit of half the fee , £65 will secure your place, on receipt of the deposit your place will be confirmed. The balance should be paid two weeks before the start of the class
Requirements
Protective clothing
2 metres of medium weight close weave cotton like cotton sateen, printing cotton or similar. Needs to be washed or prepared for dyeing. I will be bringing some ready prepared to start you off while we prepare what you bring
Any favourite print blocks or stencils you might have. More will be available for you to use
