Using a sketchbook forms the basis for developing most art work, whichever discipline. This course aims to show how to approach this practice, and includes many ways of recording and developing ideas, in addition to traditional drawing.
Sketchbooks are the foundation of all creative work.. if you can record your feelings, your observations, and all your senses, you will have a rich resource from which to design and make your textile pieces. This course serves as an introduction to the discipline of keeping a sketchbook and how to go about it, with some simple exercises to get you started, using a broad range of materials and techniques. Simple bookbinding techniques will be taught and also the process of working with a theme.
Fridays from 10.00-16.00 once a month for 10 sessions
