The start of the new classes for my year long courses is fast approaching …
I teach three different classes on the first weekend of every month except January and August.. the new year starts next week…
Creative Textiles takes place on Thursdays 10-4 for ten sessions and starts on 31 January, £45 per session A series of monthly challenges for designing and making textiles pieces. This course aims to stretch students using textiles as their medium.
Printed Textiles takes place on Saturdays 10-4 for ten sessions and starts on 2 February, £50 per session to include all dyes and chemicals Students learn a different technique for printmaking on fabric every session, either adding colour, or removing colour, predominantly using procion mx dyes, and discharge chemicals
Independent Study takes place on Sundays 10-4 for ten sessions and starts on 3 February, £50 per session to include all dyes and chemicals These sessions are intended for those students who have completed Printed Textiles, formerly known as Procion and Process. They are encouraged to work on their own projects with technical support and teaching from me, the tutor
I have had several cancellations, so, there are last minute spaces on Creative textiles and on Printed Textiles… If you are thinking about joining in the fun, please do contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01962 777480 soon, so you don’t miss out on these really enjoyable classes
looking forward to hearing from you…
The programme of new classes is here, although all the sessions are listed in the classes section of this site, not all the information sheets are there yet, so please bear with me, I am going as fast as I can … still waiting on a couple of requirements lists here and there
hope you like what we have to offer this year
Sorry I have been so quiet, i have had a traumatic couple of weeks …. I have been at two back to back shows, The Scottish Quilting Show in Glasgow followed by Fashion and Embroidery at the NECin Birmingham … however, the clutch went on the way up and the clutch master cylinder went on the way back!!
Now trying to catch up with myself ..the only class left in March is Clare Bullock’s felting class on Friday and Saturday(23&24), we could squeeze one more if anyone wants to come very last minute .. she is teaching ‘Mapping with Prefelts, Landscape and Print’ so a fun two days ahead.
April sees the start of my creative textiles monthly class and the procion monthly class continues, both of these are full but you can always reserve a place for next year!!
Caroline Bell’s classes start this month with Spring Eco on 17&24 April, two consecutive Tuesdays, again we have a space or two at a squeeze on this course, hopefully spring will have sprung by then!
Mel Rose has two life drawing groups running on Sat 21 and Sun 22 April, both of these are full this month but there are a sprinkling of spaces in future months if you are interested.
Finally and certainly not least, Debbie Lyddon is coming to the Granary Studio to teach ‘Exploring Place’ for 4 days 26-29 April, again this one is full but I have had two cancellations for the extra class we have put on for the waiting list … 8-11 May, so, if you would like to work with this inspiring tutor, please let me know, I am sure these places will go quickly
Sorry this is a bit wordy, but hopefully you are already booked on something, if not, why dont you fill one of these spaces!
hope to see you here soon
