sorry to have been so quiet, I lost my hard drive on the approach to Christmas and it has taken me a long time to recover my information!
Anyway, Merry Christmas now, I hope everyone had a great Christmas, I had a good one staying with my kids for the first time , after cooking 37 turkeys on the trot, I was cooked for by my son-in law… very different and very wonderful…
I have at long last sent out a newsletter to my followers and updated the website accordingly…
First, I introduced Heather Chalkley, who is coming at the end of January to teach a fabulous exotic bird picture, bright and cheerful in these dark days, I expect this workshop to be very popular as I have had quite a few requests to bring patchwork and quilting to the Granary Studio.. in fact the bookings for this have already started! I hope this will be the first of many workshops from Heather… do visit the Classes page to find out more
I have some upcoming classes in January with spaces, listed here, so , if you are interested, do please get in touch.. as follows:
16th Jan Eco-Stitch taught by Caroline Bell, a lovely relaxing day, bringing together all those samples you have created in the summer months when there were leaves on the trees!
20th Jan Life Drawing for beginners, 1space only, taught by Mel Rose, if you have always fancied a go at life drawing, Mel is a lovely sympathetic and inspiring tutor, so do come and join in the fun
26-28 Jan Exotic Bird taught by Heather Chalkley, just released, come for a weekend of bright inspiring learning
Thats all the classes with availability for January, I hope to post this information at the end of every month from now onwards, I won’t mention the full classes but I always keep waiting lists, so it is worth getting in touch for other sessions you see in the Classes page of this site.. life happens and I get cancellations, mainly because students book so far ahead
I hope 2018 is a happy and healthy year for you all
We have a couple of spaces on two of our upcoming classes….
The excellent Caroline Bell has a couple of spaces on her Autumn Eco printing class which is running on two consecutive Tuesdays, 10&17 October…this is a fun class which results in a tremendous variety of colours and shapes on paper and fabrics, every class that Caroline teaches varies according to what we can find around the village, what the weather is, how advanced each season is etc …
I have two names in my open studios book who are interested in Caroline’s classes but sadly they didnt leave their email addresses or phone numbers, which is a shame…
Secondly, the amazing Clare Bullock is running ‘the Versatility of Felt’ on Fri/Sat 27 and 38 October also has a couple of spaces, she is a fun tutor who has a really sensitive affinity for felt, no lumpy dog blankets here, only very fine beautiful surfaces ..
Both these classes are two days each running from 10.00-16.00 and cost £90 for the two days. tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day but you will need to bring your own lunch…. there are three bed and breakfasts available in the village and there are wonderful walks for partners if they wish to come too. Owslebury is a pretty village with a lovely pub…
Hope to see you here…
I am announcing a brand new class from Melanie Rose… We are planning to extend the drawing and painting classes offered here at the Granary in addition to the life drawing that is already offered regularly.
A Painting Day, Abstracting the Figure will run on Saturday 19th November 2016 from 11.00-16.00, the day will cost £45.00
The materials list can be found by clicking on the course code MR010 and when you visit the classes section on this site and scroll down to Mel’s classes
There a couple of spaces on Caroline Bell’s forthcoming two day class ‘Indigo, the Queen of Natural Dyes’ which costs £90 and will run on Saturday and Sunday 15/16 October 2016…this should be great with Caroline creating an Eco Indigo Vat, so none of the evil substances I have used in the past.
Also, Clare Bullock has a couple of spaces on ‘The Versatility of Felt’ which is coming up on Fri & Sat, 11 & 12 November from 10.00-16.00, this also costs £90, and as always will be a fun packed class.
That’s all the spaces I have for the rest of this year 2016, everything else is full so things are very lively here at the Granary Studio
Hope to see you somewhere on any of the classes, if not …. see you next year!
