An experimental set of workshops to explore the process, from idea, through design and on to finished piece. Each session will have a different starting point as a design challenge, or a development of the previous one.  Students will be expected to work independently between sessions and work to their own brief to complete the work. Starting points could be to work from a collection, to work with the idea of identity, to start with a calculated journey, etc. If you like the idea of being challenged then this is the course for you..

Students will develop their own personal practice using journal, sketchbooks, drawings and photographs to progress their ideas, which can include mixed media, stitch, 3 dimensional work, printing, dyeing etc

Experience level: any, although this course will be taught at level 4, i.e. post city and guilds

Class fees:  £45 per session , with £90 paid as a deposit to secure the place and the remainder paid monthly at each session with the last two sessions free
