Landscape through Batik.   £150
Two day workshop    Sat and Sun 24&25 July 2021
Using the exciting art of batik – hot wax resist – on paper and tissue paper and using traditional and non traditional tools to create interesting marks and textures, we will then cut and tear to create collages, landscape being our inspiration. These will then be our inspiration on day two to create work on cotton fabric.

Trees  – an Exploration through Batik        £150

Two day workshop Sat/Sun 17&18 October 2020

Using  the technique of batik (hot wax resist) to create pieces of work inspired by trees – this could be the structure, leaves, shape, seasons or topiary. We will work on different surfaces such as tissue, paper and fabric, separately and in combination. Working with wax, bleach, inks and dyes to create  textures and effects. An exciting course allowing for exploration and discovery.

Student requirements

Please bring with you apron, hairdryer, Pritt stick, scissors, pieces of white paper, such as khadi paper, cartridge, etc, white cotton fabric, up to A3, stretched canvas up to A3 (optional) images for inspiration.

I will have some paper and fabric with me too
