Description: The emphasis for this summer school is on the experimental, on new ways of working, on unlocking creativity and encouraging individual personal development. Observation is at the heart of this week and students may make their own responses through a variety of direction, for instance writing, drawing, painting, printmaking, stitching and photography.

Students may complete some work during the week, or they may find they need to stay with their enquiry. Students will work individually and with different approaches from each other.

Come and be inspired not only by the ideas and encouragement from the tutor, but also from your fellow students. There will be exercises every day to give direction and to bring the group together and one-to-one conversations with the tutor to encourage you in your exploration.

Experience level: This week is not suitable for beginners, some knowledge of printmaking, design and stitch would mean that the students would get the most out of the course. It would help if students have some experience of self direction.

Class fees: The cost of the course is £250 with a deposit of £100 being taken to secure your place. The session fee includes the teaching, the use of the studio, tools, dyes, chemicals etc.

Class size: Limited to 4 students, to provide enough space per student to facilitate their own projects

Dates: 13-17 July, Mon-Fri 10.00-16.00

Studio Times:  The teaching day will run from 10.00-16.00 but the studio will be open from 9.00 until 18.00, for those trying to avoid rush hour traffic. Please bring your own lunch, there is a microwave for heating soup etc.
