Description: This fun quilt may be made from a Jelly Roll or a selection of 2 1/2 inch strips from your stash

Make a simple quilt in a day from scraps of dress weight cotton fabrics… make a play mat for the new spring baby, or use scraps of your kids clothes to make a throw for cuddling into to watch the TV

Experience level: Any

Class size: 5 maximum

Scraps stash, strip quilt

Make a lap quilt using strips of fabric from your stash. This quilt can be made up as a scrap quilt or, if you prefer use colour co-ordinating fabrics for a more regular design. The choice is yours but the technique is the same.

You will be shown how to cut using a rotary cutter, mat and quilters ruler.

Stitching and pressing techniques with hints and tips throughout the day.

Resources:

Approximately 2 metres of dress weight cotton fabric (44” wide)

Thread for stitching together

1.5 metres fleece (for backing)

Sewing machine, foot pedal/power cable, manual (We do have machines available but please let us know if you wish to use them at time of booking.)

Sewing Kit: needles, pins, small scissors, large scissors

Rotary cutter, Self-healing mat, Quilters rulers (We do have these at the studio but we know some people prefer to use their own)

Note book and pen
