Description

Sketchbooks is an 8 session year serving a broad based introduction to keeping a sketchbook as part of a regular practice. Students will be introduced to various techniques to enable them to create a record of their projects/experiences/travels etc. This course is not intended as a finished art piece, more a record of experiences for future reference and  reflection

Dates, please take careful note 

This is a year long class taught over 8 monthly sessions on  the third thursday in the month as follows: 18 October, 15 November, 20 December, 21 February, 22 March, 18 April, 16 May, 20 June

Payment

Sketchbooks fee is £480 for the 8 sessions

Information

This course is designed to enable students to effectively use their sketchbooks to develop ideas for future projects, or to record events, or simply to enjoy the process. Each session will focus on a different technique .. but students are free to combine different techniques as we progress through the year. the sessions are focussed as follows 1. introduction and making papers for future use in collage etc.. intro exercise 2. creative collage 3. using photographs,altering and embellishing 4. edges and limited field of vision 5. flaps and windows 6. monoprinting 7. adding text 8. making simple books

Resources 

The studio is well stocked with resources which are available for your use. You should bring your own lunch as there is no shop in the village, but tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day.

Always have a notebook and camera(phone) to record your work.. you may be asked to bring resources for particular sessions.
