Simple rughooking…
Using recycled fabrics..predominantly tee shirts.we will go through the process of preparing the fabrics for hooking..preparing our hessian base and learning the very simple technique of hooking.
Looking at imagery we want to use and how to translate it into a hooked piece.
I make rugs for floor use ,but prefer wall hung pieces…the choice is yours..

2 days    Fri  14 and Sat 15 May 2026. Each day runs from 10-4 and tea, coffee, and biscuits are available throughout

Payment

The workshop fee is £195.  Payment can be made by credit/bank card upon booking.  If you pay via bank transfer then your place will be confirmed once payment has been received.

Requirements

Selection of recycled fabrics..tees shirts,wool garments,thick yarn, bring anything you feel you would like to use and see how it goes…
I will bring hessian for the base ,which you can purchase from me at cost price…or if you have some of your own bring it ..flour sacks are perfect if you happen to have one.
If you have a Rug hooking tool/ hook then do bring it…l will be sourcing some which you will be able to buy from me…do not bring a latch hook …they do not work ..
Black marker pen to draw the outline of your design on the hessian.
Darning needle and thread to secure the  edge of the hessian ..it begins to unravel as you start to work on it…
Scissors….sharp large ones…
A simple image that you would like to work from..
