Indigo, Rust and Ecoprinting Description
A workshop which combines three of my favourite processes with the object of creating a series of cloths with beautiful and intriguing markings which may provide the basis of new work but can also be used as they are in the making of functional items like cushions, bags etc.
Day one will focus on the making of a natural indigo vat, tips will be given on how to maintain and troubleshoot problems so that you will have the confidence to continue to dye at home. When the vat is ready, we will enjoy the magical process of dyeing a series of fabrics ready for the next day.
Day two we will embellish our cloths with hot rust dyeing and ecoprinting using a special technique which has wonderful results on indigo.
