Class Description

An opportunity to discover the basics of Ecoprinting in Autumn. Very briefly ecoprinting is the process whereby leaves are permanently printed onto fabric and paper using heat and moisture.
Students Working on silk, Students will generate a series of samples and learn a variety of different wrapping techniques and how to achieve different results using a range of different mordants (fixers). The aim is for everyone to leave with a good understanding of the basic process,
how to consistently achieve nice prints and the confidence to continue at home

Payment  the cost of these two days is £180, payable through the website at time of bookiing

Student Requirements.

.approximately 1 metre of a medium weight habotai silk,

some processes can be done on cotton so bring this if desired – something medium weight like sheeting NOT calico.

Apron, gloves, string, pen and notebook

A selection of cotton and silk fabrics, (lighter weight fabrics work best) are available for sale at the Granary Studio

Don’t forget your lunch!      N.B. There is no shop in the village
