the new program of classes for the rest of 2019 , 2020 and a few in 2021 is nearly complete, just waiting for one new tutor to give me title and dates then the newsletter will go out to my mailing list… but do have a look at what s on offer … three new tutors offering amazing courses as well as all the other talented tutors proposing some brand new classes
The programme of new classes is here, although all the sessions are listed in the classes section of this site, not all the information sheets are there yet, so please bear with me, I am going as fast as I can … still waiting on a couple of requirements lists here and there
hope you like what we have to offer this year
Sorry I have been so quiet, i have had a traumatic couple of weeks …. I have been at two back to back shows, The Scottish Quilting Show in Glasgow followed by Fashion and Embroidery at the NECin Birmingham … however, the clutch went on the way up and the clutch master cylinder went on the way back!!
Now trying to catch up with myself ..the only class left in March is Clare Bullock’s felting class on Friday and Saturday(23&24), we could squeeze one more if anyone wants to come very last minute .. she is teaching ‘Mapping with Prefelts, Landscape and Print’ so a fun two days ahead.
April sees the start of my creative textiles monthly class and the procion monthly class continues, both of these are full but you can always reserve a place for next year!!
Caroline Bell’s classes start this month with Spring Eco on 17&24 April, two consecutive Tuesdays, again we have a space or two at a squeeze on this course, hopefully spring will have sprung by then!
Mel Rose has two life drawing groups running on Sat 21 and Sun 22 April, both of these are full this month but there are a sprinkling of spaces in future months if you are interested.
Finally and certainly not least, Debbie Lyddon is coming to the Granary Studio to teach ‘Exploring Place’ for 4 days 26-29 April, again this one is full but I have had two cancellations for the extra class we have put on for the waiting list … 8-11 May, so, if you would like to work with this inspiring tutor, please let me know, I am sure these places will go quickly
Sorry this is a bit wordy, but hopefully you are already booked on something, if not, why dont you fill one of these spaces!
hope to see you here soon
How can we be at the end of January, it feels as though we have only just put the Xmas decs away … February sees the start of the new years’ classes so things are revving up now, my Creative Textiles and Procion Printing long courses are starting again this week, as is Mel’s life drawing … Amanda Hislop returns to the Granary to teach her ‘Imagined Seascapes’ too…
Caroline Bell is offering a brand new class titled ‘Natural dyeing ‘ in response to requests from preious students .. she has spaces on this, so if you are interested in dyeing rather than printing, then come along to try it out ..two tuesdays 13 & 20 Feb, more details in the classes section of this website, it is £100 for the two days, all dyes included.. should be a great couple of days, let me know if you are interested.
The life drawing is roughly once a month and although we have a nucleus of regular students there are often the odd space so if you wish to go on that email list offering these spaces, please contact me..
thats it for now, more things coming up in March, will let you know at the end of feb
We have a couple of spaces on two of our upcoming classes….
The excellent Caroline Bell has a couple of spaces on her Autumn Eco printing class which is running on two consecutive Tuesdays, 10&17 October…this is a fun class which results in a tremendous variety of colours and shapes on paper and fabrics, every class that Caroline teaches varies according to what we can find around the village, what the weather is, how advanced each season is etc …
I have two names in my open studios book who are interested in Caroline’s classes but sadly they didnt leave their email addresses or phone numbers, which is a shame…
Secondly, the amazing Clare Bullock is running ‘the Versatility of Felt’ on Fri/Sat 27 and 38 October also has a couple of spaces, she is a fun tutor who has a really sensitive affinity for felt, no lumpy dog blankets here, only very fine beautiful surfaces ..
Both these classes are two days each running from 10.00-16.00 and cost £90 for the two days. tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day but you will need to bring your own lunch…. there are three bed and breakfasts available in the village and there are wonderful walks for partners if they wish to come too. Owslebury is a pretty village with a lovely pub…
Hope to see you here…
Next week sees the Festival of Quilts at the NEC in Birmingham … it runs from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th August … the Granary Studio will be there … we have a stand QIA24 where the students will talk to anyone interested in our classes…. I have creaed a book with images and details of the fun we have here, and a glimpse of our tutor team which now numbers 8!… hope to see some of you there, do pop by and say hello
a sunny day in Owslebury with a lovely group of students who travelled from all directions to take part in Caroline Bell’s indigo workshop over two consecutive Tuesdays. Here is a flavour of the days
