Welcome to the new term at the Granary

Hi everyone … just back from the carrefour Du Patchwork in Ste Marie aux Mines in Alsace, France where I had an exhibition with the group ArtQuiltFusion… here my friend Paulo took a photograph of me in front of my self portrait .. it is a fabulous exhbition and well worth visiting … do look up the details

These are wooden quilts! Fraser Smith from Florida makes them from planks of wood… he carves them and paints them ..we had to get him to knock on the wood because we couldn’t believe they were not fabric, amazing

Welcome to the new term at the Granary …. we have lots on offer for you and still some spaces on some of the classes….
The day-a-month Procion and process course is now full but I have spaces to run a second group on the Friday. This is advertised as Independent study, but… I can teach procion and process alongside independent study because the groups are so small .. it may be that Friday is better for you anyway …. the studio is well equiped for the work with procion dye so do come and join us on the first Friday in the month too…alternatively if you have some experience, then use theses sessions as independent study I do not mind which you require.
There is still space on the dressmaking classes which start on the 1st October, every Thursday until 10 December. There are two sessions either 14.30 – 17.30 or 18.30 – 21.30…
Life Drawing clases are now full until after Xmas, but I am negotiating with Mel for some dates in the spring term and I will get them to you ASAP.
Caroline’s Eco dyeing fabric classes on 21 and 28 october will both run but there is the odd space on each of them …. and there are spaces on her eco dyeing paper class on wed 14 th oct 10.00-1600
There are also a number of patchwork classes , both regular classes and one off dayschools all of which have spaces on them ….
If you are interested in any of these classes then please email me on granarystudio@hotmail.com or phone  on 01962 777480, do visit http://www.granarystudio.com for more information about any of our courses… if you click on the ‘courses’ button and then click on the course codes you will be transferred to the appropriate course information sheet
hope to see you somewhere on one of our courses

Finally, we are considering running city and guilds in Patchwork and Quilting here at the Granary, probably starting in January, please contact us if you would be interested… the classes at eastleigh College are not running this year because they need such large numbers to be viable.
